Fatal pedestrian accident in Tucson

Arizona residents often witness or hear about incidents occurring on the roadways. Whether it is traffic delays or an accident, commuting on major roadways can prove dangerous. Multi-tasking while driving is a major hazard that is plaguing drivers all over the nation. When a driver is distracted by another activity, such as texting on a cellphone, they are less attentive and could be involved in an accident. When a driver is distracted, they may speed, fail to yield or take their eyes on the road. This could lead to a pedestrian accident.

Authorities recently responded to a fatal auto-pedestrian accident. It was reported that a vehicle struck a man while he was crossing the street. The accident occurred around 8:00p.m. near East Grant Road and North Arcadia Avenue. It was determined that the pedestrian was crossing East Grant Road while the automobile was traveling on North Arcadia Avenue.

When emergency crews arrived at the scene of the accident, they assessed those involved. The pedestrian was suffering from life-threatening injuries and was transported to the hospital where he died several days later. The driver of the vehicle did not suffer any injuries.

The accident is still under investigation and no citations have been issued at this time. The loved ones of the deceased pedestrian could file a wrongful death claim if the driver is found negligent and liable for the accident. Compensation could cover medical bills, funeral costs, damages, lost wages and pain and suffering.

When an auto-pedestrian accident occurs, the person struck will most likely suffer severe injuries. The impact of a vehicle could cause the death of a pedestrian, and the loved ones of the deceased may suffer financial burdens. Filing a lawsuit to seek compensation will help with the expenses as well as assist with the coping process.
