Truck and car collide, injuring three and killing one

On a daily basis throughout the county accidents happen on the roads, whether they are "fender benders" or a severe collision. When a driver is not paying adequate attention, they could cross the centerline or miss a vehicle turning in front of them. Even the slightest amount of negligence or distracted driving could cause a crash. This could ultimately result in a fatal accident.

The Marana police recently responded to a truck crash that involved an automobile and a tractor-trailer. The crash happened while a family was headed to an area pumpkin patch. It was not immediately clear how the two vehicles collided, but the collision resulted in three victims.

Emergency crews arrived at the scene and assessed everyone involved. A father, his 14-year-old daughter, 10-year-old son and 8-year-old son were all injured in the accident. All were transported to the hospital and the 8-year-old boy was reported to be in critical condition. He later died at the hospital.

Authorities stated that everyone in the car was wearing their seat belts at the time of the crash, but authorities are still trying to determine the cause of the collision. Following the investigation, police should be able to attribute cause and liability.

A driver who is responsible for a fatal crash could be liable for the resulting deaths, injuries and damages. The loved ones of the deceased could file a wrongful death claim against the driver. This could result in a monetary award to cover the costs associated with the accident. Compensation could help alleviate the costs of medical bills, funeral costs, damages and pain and suffering.

The loss of a loved one is often a difficult event to deal with, especially when family members were also involved in the accident that took their life. Although it is challenging to be proactive when dealing with the emotions following a tragic accident, those affected should understand their rights and options when it comes to filing for compensation.
