Hazmat called after pool-truck crash

Accidents involving large trucks can have serious consequences. A truck accident often results in a large crash site involving numerous vehicles. Moreover, the enormous size of a truck can severely damage smaller vehicles it collides with. To make things worse, the load the truck is carrying could spill onto the roadway and create additional hazards for other motorists.

Following a truck collision that involved four vehicles, a hazardous materials crew was called because two of the four vehicles were trucks carrying pool chemicals. According to preliminary reports, the accident occurred in Scottsdale neat the intersection of Thunderbird Road and Scottsdale Road. It is not clear at this time what caused the multi-vehicle collision.

Authorities originally believed that chlorine had spilled onto the streets. After an initial investigation, it was discovered that the powder that dispersed across the roadways was algaecide. The hazmat crews were able to sweep up the powder. As a result of this crash, one person suffered minor injuries and was transported to a local hospital.

Investigation is still ongoing. Once completed, investigators may be able to determine the cause of the truck accident. Furthermore, they may be able to assign fault. If a negligent driver caused the crash, they could be liable for the resulting injuries and damages. An injured party could file a personal injury claim. A monetary award could cover any expenses or damages related to the crash. This could help offset any financial burdens associated with the crash.

No matter the severity of the crash or the injuries suffered, a victim of a truck accident should understand their rights and options. Before filing a civil claim, an injured party should fully understand their situation and legal remedies available to them.
