Phoenix officer injured when motorcycle struck by vehicle

Anyone could be a victim in an automobile accident. Even police officers are possible victims in a collision. Although they seek to prevent accidents on the roadways, they too can be injured by a negligent driver. Failing to uphold the standard duty of care required by drivers could result in a serious accident no matter who is driving and what type of vehicle they are traveling in.

A police officer in Phoenix recently sustained injuries when he was involved in an accident. Preliminary reports indicate that the officer was traveling on his motorcycle on 32nd street. While traveling southbound on the roadway, a vehicle allegedly turned left in front of the officer at Grovers Street. This maneuver resulted in the collision of the two vehicles.

The officer was transported to the hospital following the motorcycle accident. It was reported that the injuries he sustained were serious but did not appear to be life threatening. No injuries were reported to the driver of the vehicle involved in the accident.

The investigation is still ongoing and details about the cause or charges were not reported at this time. It was also not clear whether or not the officer was on duty at the time of the crash. Once the investigation is completed, the details of the incident should be able to establish cause and liability.

When a negligent driver causes a crash, they could face criminal and civil penalties. An injured victim could endure many losses and damages, and filing a personal injury claim could help them offset these costs. Compensation could be used to cover medical bills, rehabilitation, lost wages and other related damages.

A serious accident could happen suddenly and any unsuspecting person could become the victim of an accident caused by a negligent driver. In these situations, it is crucial to understand how to address the losses and damages they incurred in the incident. Understanding their legal remedies could help them determine whether a cause of action is right for them.
