Arizona Work Related Deaths

Work related fatalities declined in Arizona in 2014, however the number rose nationally, according to the US Bureau of Labor Statistics.

There were 86 deaths in Arizona in 2014, compared to 95 in 2013. In 2014 there were 4,679 people killed on the job in the United States.

In 2014, Arizona construction accidents accounted for 17 deaths, there were 10 trucker fatalities. Work related roadway deaths rose from 10 to 20 in 2014. 81 of the 86 deaths were men.

In Arizona an employee hurt on the job, during the course and scope of his or her employment, generally has a worker's compensation claim. If a third party, such as another driver or business is at fault, then the injured worker may also have a third party claim, for personal injury damages.

The claim for personal injury damages requires that fault be shown, then the injured worker may have claims for the medical bills, lost income, and for his or her injuries, pain and suffering and other damages.
